If you are looking for a wedding venue with the wow factor then you simply cannot ignore the beautiful Kelmarsh Hall. We’re not lying when we say it takes a lot to impress us, because it really does. We often travel up and down the country visiting many different sites, so when we find one that actually takes our breath away, we know we’ve found something special.
We are so taken with Kelmarsh that we decided it had to be included in our venue portfolio immediately. The Carriages’ Venue Portfolio is different to every other portfolio out there. We work exclusively with our venues to ensure they meet the high standards of our clients. Not only do you get your very own dedicated Asian wedding planning team on site, but you receive extra advice on things like styling and theming, food and beverage and so much more!
1. The grounds
When you book Kelmarsh Hall for your wedding you will find yourself with so much outdoor space that you won’t know what to do with it. Whether you want a drinks reception on the front lawn, or to set up some garden games at the back, the options are endless. You can even choose to have your Indian ceremony outside if the sun’s out.
(This point deserves it’s own separate blog so expect one coming your way soon). You enter through The Great Hall filled with Italian pink walls and 18th century ceiling plasterwork, then make your way into the Saloon, filled with polished oak floorboards and crystal chandeliers, what’s not to love? There’s also a Drawing Room, Library and Dining Room in between as well as our favourite, purpose-built Ballroom. But what’s more special, is the fact the ONLY people to ever be allowed to take photos in the renowned Chinese Room are bride and grooms – which means you!
One of the reasons we love the Ballroom is because it has gorgeous views overlooking the West Terrace and nearby lake. So when you’re standing in front of the windows saying your vows, you and your guests will feel extra special. There’s so much greenery both at the front and back of the estate, you’ll literally feel like you’re hundreds of miles away from the nearest city – which as you know isn’t the case at all. It’s picture perfect for those wedding photos.
Whether you’re looking to host an event for 50 people or 500, there are so many different options at Kelmarsh Hall. You can move from room to room, have a dedicated chill out zone for guests, or utilise the marquee space for a larger events. Whether your numbers increase throughout the day or stay the same you don’t need to worry because there will always be a space that suits your needs.
One of the best things about The Hall is that it is steeped in history. Kelmarsh was built in the 1730s by architect James Gibbs for the Hanbury family. However, it was society decorator, Nancy Lancaster, who seems to have left her mark on the property with her fine taste, managing to combine both comfort and formality under one roof.
Good service or the lack of it can make or break any event so be sure to hire the best suppliers to ensure your guests feel well looked after. The events team at Kelmarsh happen to be some of the loveliest people we’ve met. An event at Kelmarsh Hall comes with your dedicated event planning team who will work with you every step of the way to ensure everything from your centre pieces to your cake are spot on. With so much happening on the day, it’s an extra peace of mind knowing someone will be on hand.
The problem with many independent venues is the lack of flexibility they offer. The hire of Kelmarsh Hall means you have access to the entire house! While there are some places closed off for the couple only (let’s be honest they need some breathing space) the rest of the house is yours to use and decorate as you please, within reason. You also have access to all the outdoor space, which is perfect for a summer wedding. You are also free to bring in quality suppliers of your choice which is always a plus.
When you have guests traveling from all over the country you want somewhere that is easily accessible, with plenty of parking, on site amenities and of course accommodation nearby. Kelmarsh ticks all of these boxes and more. Could it be any more perfect?
